I have lead a number of international trekking trips, mainly with students aged 16-18. The majority of these trips have been to Nepal and to altitude, including Annapurna Base Camp and Kilimanjaro
As a leader, my role is varied and can range from medic to counsellor but ultimately it is my responsibility to plan, organise and over see the running of the trip and the overall safety of the group
Within my role I work regularly with local providers, make decisions on safety as well as plan and organise logistics.
I find this work incredibly enriching and fulling and is often a real privilege to see young people experience a different culture for the first time and push themselves both mentally and physically in the mountains
