NETFLIX 2020 - 2024

Since 2020 I have been working as a senior assistant producer for Bristol based production company Wildspace Productions, who make blue chip natural history programming exclusively for Netflix.

I worked across two different series which are both are still under embargo and due to TX in 2024 and 2025.

Series 1 - Natural history and science led series. I worked on episode 3 which had a large focus on reactive shoots inc wildfire, extreme weather and wildlife events based around climate change.

Series 2 - Purely natural history series with the episode I worked on, focusing on frozen environments including Antarctica, Greenland, high altitude and underwater elements.

Some of the most notable shoots I managed included triggering and filming avalanches with an FPV at Fortress Mountain, Canada, constructing a 40m high tower to facilitate filming in the Peruvian Amazon, coordinating a reactive shoot to capture a category 5 hurricane in Florida and filming seasonal melt on the Greenland Ice Cap.

On both series, my key responsibilities were…

  • Creating and editing storyboards

  • Managing researcher time and researcher skill development

  • Setting up and managing complex shoot logistics inc remote, reactive, under ice diving and jungle canopy filming.

  • Writing and editing PRAs

  • Pulling together comprehensive communication and evacuation plans, often from extremely remote and challenging locations

  • Managing shoot schedules

  • Working closely with camera teams to make decisions on kit

  • Working with remote crews and directing using Frame IO

  • Overseeing pre-edits

  • Field Director on a number of shoots including to Peru, Greenland, Japan and Canada
